These families share their path out of poverty by Passing on the Gift® to others.

Here’s how it works. A family receives a gift of an animal from Heifer. The animal reproduces. They pass on the kid, calf, or chicks to another family. That family passes on to another family. Families, through Heifer’s support, go from being impoverished to becoming donors themselves with assets, worth thousands of rand, to pass on to others. It is a process that gives families hope, dignity and self reliance.
